Are you creative and do you love taking small videos of things that are not quite what they really are? Like, do you take videos of things in a different way so that they don’t look so obvious? Then, do I have site that can take your talent and help you earn some extra cash while you entertain others.
Vimepot is an up and coming site that welcomes video riddlers to post a video of a “clue” and pose a question or riddle that has to be guessed by players. The first player to guess the correct answer after watching the video clip wins the posted prize.
Posting the videos is quick and easy, and winning can be even easier. The site allows only for safe and friendly videos, so know that each and every video is being vetted for decency before being posted. As a player, you won’t have to worry about viewing something that offends you. As a poster, be aware of what you are posting and play nice.
To get started, visit the Vimepot website at Vimepot.com. Register and create an account. Only then can you learn more about the application, which currently is just desktop based. Once you are done with this easy step, you are free to post video clips and set prizes. You are also free to start playing as well.
Note that you must have a PayPal account to play, because all exchanges of funds occur in PayPal, so you know things are legit and safe.
Now, you might be wondering how this site can be considered a monetization site. Well, for every guess that is made on your video riddle, the player is charged $0.50. Vimepot gets 10% of this and you keep the rest. Then, when the riddle is solved, the winner gets the prize money, which you get to set, and again, Vimepot gets 10% of this. Vimepot wins, you win. Players win by guessing correctly.
Another thing to be aware of is that Vimepot is very careful about preventing the posting of proprietary materials. So, please don’t try copying and clipping segments of video clips already out there. Your posts need to be yours, created by you.
When guessing the riddle, you need to provide a phrase as the answer. Vimepot does some clever comparisons and allows for simple substitutions like “cat” is the same as “cats”. So, if you answer contains something like “A yellow cat hugging a stuffed animal.” Then Vimepot.com will accept “Yellow cats hugging stuffed animal.” As long as you have a majority of the words in the answer phrase, you can win.
I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in the site in that it was not descriptive and did not have a nice intro. When you pop up the site, it shows a page full of riddles ready to be solved, but you have no idea what you are getting into. There is a link to Register or Sign In, but the landing page should really have an explanation of what Vimepot is all about and how to use it.
There is a Help link at the very bottom of the page, but who goes down there?
In any case, I have posted a few simple videos myself in hopes of making a few bucks. The upload was easy and they were vetted within 10 minutes, which was pretty impressive. I look forward to solving a few myself.
