You will find many gaming apps on the Google Play Store that is built on mythological stories, in the genre of puzzle, action or even strategy games. This game in particular, chose to be a combination of strategy and mythology, and one that you will find is very engaging and entertaining. It will play on virtually any Android based smartphone and won’t drain your battery down the hill as you play it.
It’s based on the theme that there were valiant Vikings many years ago, who were strong and had one mission in their life: to maintain the balance of nature by chopping down wild and rapid growing trees and other such vegetation. But in the course of time, nature started winning and it was a challenging job for the Viking lumberjacks to cut the rapid growing trees at the same pace. And that’s how the game begins. You play as the legendary Chosen One, a descendent of mighty Vikings, who has an axe to clear all the trees along the way.
But that’s not all. You start in a square spaced arena where there are lots of boulders and other such physical objects placed all over. Your job is to swipe your fingers across the screen, left or right, up or down, to guide the mighty Viking as he keeps chopping trees on his way. However, there seem to be no brakes on this Viking, and it will keep chopping trees until it faces an obstacle, at which point, it stops (typical Viking behaviour, acting without thinking!). Your job as a player, is to guide him to cut all the trees, using various obstacles as a way to steer him throughout the arena. Sounds easier than it actually is, but the strategy required gets really complex as you climb across different levels.
There are more than 200 levels on this game, so it becomes more difficult as you progress through each level, but you also get many coins and experience points, that you can spend on buildings and advancing your village. While the first 9 levels are comparatively easier, the real challenge begins when you have to start chopping all the trees within a certain time limit, so it becomes more vigorous. And after crossing level 46, things become even more interesting, as now you have enemies who want to slow you down. You can then spend the coins you’ve earned to help yourself defend from such people. You’ll also gather a team of 25 or so Vikings who will help you in this journey. But be aware, the ending of the game might not be what you had previously anticipated, so that definitely is a shock to many new players!
The graphics of this game isn’t as high as most other games are, but you won’t feel like playing an old game from the early 2010s. This game is more focused on honing your wits and strategies and your reaction speed to challenges. It’s a completely free game to play where you don’t have to make any in-game purchases to make the game easier. The soundtrack is engaging but often it becomes repetitive after a while. There were no lags we faced while playing the game in a basic hardware.
All in all, it’s a really fun game to play!
