We’ve all experienced it. Your iPhone crashes or just gets stuck or you lose it, and then you scramble to recover the data that goes with all of your apps, not to mention your contacts, files and more. If you pay to get enough backup space on the iCloud, then you should be able to recover easily. If you don’t, then you need PhoneRescue to get back everything that you need to use your iOS account on any device.
The data that gets created for each app you use may reside on your device, but much of it also resides elsewhere, so even if you have not backed up your iPhone recently, or at all, PhoneRescue will be able to detect all the files that you own and will put them back on your device. It literally performs a rescue mission to retrieve what you think you may have lost.
Free to download, the app also offers a product for Android devices, as well. Because the app works on your PC or Mac, you can retrieve and revive devices that are damaged or dead. Data that gets retrieved can be saved to your desktop or directly to your device, your choice.
The interface is super easy to use, anyone can use it. An added bonus to the PhoneRescue is that it will correct any ongoing issues with the iOS you were running on, so not only does it recover, it recuperates.
With 4 types of recover and repair modes, PhoneRescue is able to maximize the number of files it can find and retrieve. It is coded to recognize the most commonly used types of iOS content, including photos, messages, contacts, music and some app data. When recovering you can select the type of files you want to recover, so you can do so piecemeal or all at once. The information is retrieved using three different types of recovery: from the device, from iTunes and from iCloud backup. Files retrieved can be exported in all types of usable formats such as TXT, CSV and HTML.
While PhoneRescue comes with a free trial from its website, you will want to buy the full feature version to be able to recover all file types. In the free version, photos and some other data cannot be retrieved.
One downside to the app is that recovery from iCloud is questionable and needs some improvement to make it more robust.
However, as it stands, PhoneRescue will get you out of a major pinch if you’ve lost access to your data and want to retrieve and save it on a desktop. The best part is that it is easy to use so you don’t end up wasting a ton of time trying to figure out how to use it.
