If you are fan of racing games, it’s time to give Noodles Now a try. Most racing games pit you against other racers, but in Noodles Now, you are racing against time, yours or even other players’, to fulfill orders and earn tips.
This game takes place sometime in the future. It’s located on Mars and the cities in which you provide deliveries are all contained in sealed domes. You take on the role of a noodle delivery specialist, zipping throughout the city without hitting things and without missing a street. Your mode of transport is a motorbike of sorts; it seems to hover over the street level, so whatever it is, it’s pretty cool.
The roadways are pretty much on a gridlike pattern, so you will be taking right angle turns. Your speed is set by the game, so you have not control over that. To turn you simply swipe left or right to move in the direction you want to go. If you want to make a U-turn, you draw an upside U.
What is great about this game is that it’s almost customizable. I say this because from the start, it will allow you to map out or select the zone in which you will draw your swipes. This is great for left- and right-handed equally, because you can choose what side of the screen you’ll be using to swipe. While the city is pretty big and you may not always have full visibility in the main screen, the app does an excellent job by providing users with a secondary zoom window that shows you where you are in relation to the rest of the grid. This helps you maneuver strategically to reach your destinations fast.
To make a delivery, you simply pass right by it. Each delivery point is marked, and you will see them very easily. You obtain scores as tips. The goal is not only to pass each delivery point, but to get to them as quickly as you can.
At times, you have to be a little careful of the app because it can get a little overwhelming with the various controls and sometime your bike might move in a direction you don’t expect it to if you accidentally touch the screen.
Overall, though, this game provides great entertainment for an app that is free to download. I should mention that you can extend your playtime by making in-app purchases to buy coins and such, because as you move up in levels, it won’t be as easy to earn tips and coins and you will see obstacles come your way. Give Noodles Now a try and see how well you can deliver!
