Planners and organizers come in all shapes and sizes. You can use traditional paper book planners or you can go digital and use an app. Whatever you choose, it’s important to use a tool that does the work for you, and does not require endless hours of your precious time making it work.
Informant 5 is the next gen of previous incarnations, filled with features that make using a planning tool worth the while. Many people think they don’t need productivity tools, but with all of the tasks we have to handle these days, it is necessary to have the help so you can focus on your core objectives, and not on remembering where you have to be and at what time.
Informant 5 makes planning easy. With its sleek black backdrop and easy to read layout, it makes planning fun. What is the real deal with the app is the color coding you can use to organize your tasks, due dates, events and more. At a glance, you can see where you are behind, what you have coming up over the next week, and in general how well projects are flowing.
Graphics and visuals are key to a productive tool, because you don’t want to spend too much extracting valuable information from a tool. A good tool will do this for you, and Informant 5 rocks it.
After downloading the Informant 5 for free, you will be asked to link into iCalendar, your Contacts, Reminders and Tasks, Notifications, and more. You will need all of these turned ON to make full use of the app.
Remember that the free version comes with very basic functionality. If you need to create tasks and link into email and more, then you will have to pay for a subscription. The cost is low and is worth it.
What I found most unique and helpful about the subscription version was the ability to create a Task from the email accounts I linked to Informant. It shaved off wasteful minutes from my day by not having to move between apps and remembering actions I needed to take related to emails.
Features are really easy to use and intuitive in nature. Many other tools require lots of trial and error, but Informant has done a thorough job in designing for the user to make it a tool that works for you.
If there is one thing I would change about Informant, it would be the subscription deal. I would like the opportunity to purchase the app, as is the case so many other types of apps, and then have the opportunity to purchase future large-scale enhancements. Small bug fixes and improvements should be provided for free in app updates, but larger feature-rich mods can be made purchasable add ons.
As is, Informant is a superb planning app and I know I will be making full use of it to help make the most of my day.
