That’s where Scandy Pro steps in. Download Scandy Pro to find out just what your iPhone X camera can do. Not only is this a big plus for those in the professional world who use 3D scans, but it makes for more fun on a personal level, having the ability to scan 3D images and use those instead of everyday 2D images.
Easy to use, all you have to do is download the app and start using it. It provides step by step guidance on how to place your device, how to move it and what needs to be done to get good results. Move your phone too fast and you won’t get a complete image. Move it too slow and it may get confused by collecting too many data points.
Once you’ve scanned an image, you can save, upload to anywhere and share. Before doing so, you can also make some basic edits to enhance and perfect your image, or just play around with it to have some fun. Note that users are also able to save one mesh per week.
One small downside is that there is no backup from Scandy Pro to the iCloud, so you need to make sure you have stored your images somewhere if they are important to keep. You can purchase scans and share them as .ply, .stl or .obj file formats. Another option available from within the Scandy Pro app is the ability to upload to Sketchfab.
You also have to pay to save your scans, so it’s highly recommended to sign up for one of several subscriptions that they offer. If you are not really sure about which one, I would start small and upgrade as needed.
From the Scan Preview area you can also tap on the Viewer Mode to move your scan into Augmented Reality and play around with the mesh to get measurements and more. The mesh you create can be used to make adjustments or even comparisons against models that define thresholds for production. What makes Scandy Pro so powerful is that it works on your mobile device, so you can scan easily wherever you are – there’s no need for carrying around bulky equipment.
Whether you plan to use Scandy Pro for fun or for work, you will find it extremely handy and easy to use.
