Know Your Emotions and Make Better Decisions – ‎ BiorhythmΩ

Timing is everything. Some days are perfect for making proposals, while others are better for sinking into your sofa, shutting out the world and just having time to yourself. Knowing what days are best for certain activities or when to make a big decision can have a huge effect on the outcome. But, could you ever figure that out?

In the early 1900’s, Dr. Alfred Teltscher created what’s called Biorhythm. Based on a study of 5,000 students, he determined that based on when you were born, the physical, emotional, intellectual and intuitive parts of your personality have high points and low points each day which, when mapped out, create a wave specific to you. These waves are called your biorhythm. Based on these waves, you will see what days are best for you to pursue physical activity and which days are better for asking for a raise.

After you download the app, the first thing you’ll do is enter your birthdate. This is pretty much all the app needs to do its thing. Based on this date, the app will calculate the functions defined for each trait. The numbers calculated range from +100 to -100, with +100 signifies a high point. For instance, if you have a +100 on a day, that would be a great day to hike that mountain you’ve been meaning to. You definitely should not hike it on a day where you are -50 for the physical trait.

One wave will be calculated and graphed per trait, so you will see four lines, each in a different color. This makes is very easy to see where you stand on each trait. You can even enter information for other people and see their biorhythms as well. This might be good for family members or even work colleagues, so you know when is best to make certain decisions or share breaking news.

The overall layout of the app is simple and easy to navigate. I found it quite straightforward to use and nothing was overly complicated. The graph provides lots of tools which allow you to apply all sorts of filters so you can home in on what interests in the moment. Waves are colored, and the data to support it matches, so it’s easy to see everything that feeds into each wave.

What would be cool is to have the biorhythm data linked to some sort of fitness device so you can see at a glance what days are good for what types of activities. You could even take it down to the time of day, because you may be at the end of a downslope and may want to postpone an event based on this.

As it stands, BiorhythmΩ is a fun tool if you are looking for another way to manage what you want to tackle and know when the right time is to do so.
