Attackers include zombies and Boss Mutants whose only goal is to feed on any humans that remain on the earth and grow their numbers. You can grow your numbers, as well, and become a stronger defensive force. In addition to securing your safety net, you should also venture out and about to seek straggling survivors, not only to provide them safety, but also to build up your force.
To start you will be building your fortress, one floor at a time. As you do this, you will equip each level and room with special protective features – each unique in their own way. These will help keep the zombies at bay. Note that in order to build up, you will need resources to fuel construction. In this world, gas is your form of currency. The more you collect or create, the more power you will have to create your fortress and to fend off the monsters.
Diamonds are another item to keep an eye out for and click on to capture. Another big boost to your resource coffers is coffee. Drink some of this and your will double your income and increase productivity for twenty seconds.
The part I found funniest was when every so often a salesman would drop by and ring the doorbell. You open the door and spin the wheel to see what you win. It could be more gas, more diamonds, but it could also be a zombie or mutant, so be wary!
When your fortress is about as complete as it can be, the zombies and mutants will start to come, slowly at first, then in waves which increase as you pass through levels of difficulty.
What makes the game even more enticing are the weekly and monthly themes that package sets of battles. It’s like you are playing in your own version of The Walking Dead and each theme is a whole new season! It keeps the game fresh and you on your toes.
Building the various rooms and floors was easy enough, but it was sometimes difficult to discern what you were adding and where exactly it was going, due to the color choices of the graphics. Don’t get me wrong, the graphics are great; but, I would highly recommend playing this game on a larger screen device so you can clearly see what you are doing.
In all, Final Fortress is a game not to be missed, especially if you like to build up defenses and battle with zombies for pure survival.
