Candy Words – Build Words and Collect Coins in a Race Against Time

Candy Words games

For those of you who love letters and excel at building words. Some people have a knack for arranging letters in such a way as to build out a set of words. They know what they need and where to place them. Candy Words requires just that. It’s set up as a matrix of letters, in a colorful set of tiles over a bright background. Your mission is to take a list of words provided by the game and rearrange the tiles in a way that builds all the words.

The words must be spelled out right to left or top to bottom. Bottom to top or diagonally doesn’t work, nor does right angles in the work, either. The word must exist in one line. That being said, the words will always be short enough to fit in a line within the matrix. Initially, the matrix will be just 3×4 letters. Most of the words you’ll be building will be 4 characters long. These are the easiest.

Things get tougher when you start to see a mix. Once you start to see words that are 2, 3 and 4 characters, it gets difficult because then you must make sure you are selecting to build the words on the correct row and columns. I say this because some letters will need to be used in multiple words. That’s when it gets tricky.

As you build more and more words, you’ll build up your own strategy of studying the word list and then looking at the letters you have available to best arrange them. The faster you arrange the words, the more coins your score. Once you’ve completed a game, you can get between 1 and 3 stars. If you get 3 stars, you get more coins.

Each game you play will deplete your coin stash, so it’s important to keep building it up. If, by chance, you deplete your coins and can no longer play, the app will prompt you to either buy more coins or to watch an in-app ad. This will allow you to continue. I myself had to watch quite a few to get to Level 9. Every day there is a daily reward, so you can collect a few coins that way, as well.

There are over 900 levels of game play spread over 3 difficulty levels, so this is something that will keep you and your family members busy for quite some time. When you get stuck, you can purchase hints for a few coins, so you don’t completely blow a game.

What I look forward to is the multiplayer option, which will truly make this a group-oriented activity and will allow you to pit yourself against others, so you can show off your wordscape skills. The app creators also have advised that they will be offering the game is other languages, such as Spanish and Portuguese, so that is something else to look forward to. I am also looking forward to the Zen mode game play, where there is no timer, just simple fun. This will provide a great way to practice.

I’d like to see a tutorial of sorts to allow for practice, but I suppose if there is a Zen mode on its way, that should suffice.

I plan on practicing as much as possible so when the app opens up to multiplayer, I will be ready for some challenges and to make the leaderboard!
